If a Couples Channel sparks joy for you both, then get that account created! Couples do have a fine line to walk: attract fans while keeping the integrity of the relationship. I'm not a relationship therapist, but I can help you navigate your way through YouTube's platform. Let's dive into this how to launch a successful couples channel. Before we calculate what makes a Couples Channel successful, I do want you to spend time reflecting on your relationship and intentions. I discuss a lot of this in my blog 'Should You Broadcast Your Relationship on Youtube,' but I do also have questions that I want you to ask yourself. NOTE: If you're already confident in your decision to move forward, keep scrolling to find helpful tips for your channel.
If you answer NO to any of these questions, reconsider your Couples Channel. Although YouTube may enhance your relationship, the platform cannot fix two people who are not meant to be together.
Take the time to watch these YouTubers' couples videos but also read their comments. Although their audience may not be YOUR future audience, you can see what people like and dislike. You can even see how much hate or speculation or assumptions that they get. How to Launch a Successful Couples ChannelMoney - You may have to spend money on filming equipment you don't already have and splurge to create special videos. Decide on your budget together. And hopefully someday sooner than later, you may start making money on your channel. Also decide together how you both will spend the money. Financial fights cause a lot of breakups, so be smart and figure your shiz out early. Conversation - They say don't sleep where you work, but that's impossible with YouTube. Arrange times to talk about video ideas and numbers, but then make sure to have conversations that do not include YouTube. No need to schedule conversations, but be aware that YouTube does not dominate your lives. Fights - People have different opinions about posting arguments. Some viewers like the rawness while others feel uncomfortable watching you air dirty laundry. Have a real discussion about this before each upload that includes a fight. If you do choose to post, be sure to watch your comments. Don't lose subscribers over this. Secrets - Never give your audience 100% of your relationship. If you are frustrated with one another, vent to your friends and family but never your viewers. Keep the integrity of your relationship by keeping parts of your relationship sacred. If you want to open up about something personal, announce it together. The Breakup - It can happen. And if you two split, what happens to the channel? Have a discussion. It may be silly to hire a lawyer to make a contract unless you're able to monetize your channel and make enough money to justify the lawyer fees. I suggest working on your own solo channels, so if the couples channel ends, you still walk away with an audience who is there for YOU. If you have your own advice to give, leave it in the comments for all to see. And if you are lucky to have your own Couples Channel, leave the name down below as well for others to watch. I hope this article helped!
