Everything About Korea

Everything About Korea
For Americans, Asia is a culture shock. We are loud and proud, and they are quiet and conservative. We share common ground with our love for pop idols, strive for perfection, and capitalist economy. Here is everything about Korea to help you plan your next vacation.

This summer, I visited Korea and explored their fashion, observed their culture, ate their food, and engaged with everything possible. I recorded a bunch of footage to help my viewers in America get a better understanding of my experiences. I uploaded several videos -- yes, a lot of them about fashion -- and want to compile them all here in one blog post. If you want to read about the personal stories of my visit, please check out my Americans Visit Korea blog post.
Yes, I spent way too much on clothes. Their sense of style was so incredibly unique that I could not resist. They sell a lot of items under 5 USD, which felt like a steal, except when you then buy a handful of clothes at each location. If you visit there, make more touristy plans so you do not get trapped like me. Feel bad for me, here's my Venmo: LezDaPez. No shame!
Lots of stores, especially the subway shops, do not have dressing rooms. I knew that I wore an Adult Small and ran on the petite side, so I was confident that I fit into their "FREE" size. Guess what, I don't! So, make sure you shop smart.
Their skin care products are amazing in price and moisture content. You can purchase many items under the price of 1 USD. (Maybe not from America because of overseas shipping, so I guess you have to visit Korea.)
Shop for sheet masks - the odder the name the better. I purchased one made from snail slime and another was listed to contain placenta. Sounds gross, but hey, vampire facials exist now.
KPOP drives their entertainment industry with guy and girl groups. They appear to sky rocket the actors. The KPOP stars set beauty trends and lead an overwhelmingly huge fan base. Think of the amount of One Directioners that exist; now multiply that by two.
Their menus include unusual foods. Every dish is served with kimchi, a palette cleanser. Many dishes are spicy. Some foods are squishy or colored grey, traits that you wouldn't find in American foods. Yes, noodles and beef are common. Most dishes are not served with a side of fruit or vegetables. They eat live octopus and bugs. We even tried silkworms!
