PART TWO

In Part One, we discussed how to find the best influencers to collab with for your channel. This blog will cover proper etiquette to approach an influencer, to respect their brand, and to properly credit them. We'll also address popular FAQs. If you have a question that goes unanswered in this post, please feel free to ask away in the comments or send me a DM.

Etiquette

• Engage with their content prior to seeking a collaboration. Like and comment on their materials. Yes, you better follow/subscribe too. (If you don't enjoy their content enough to do that, they aren't a good match for a collab.) Plus, you will establish the proof that you truly admire their work rather than viewing them as an opportunity.
• Be confident. DO NOT place them on a pedestal and beg (never a good look for anyone...well, maybe me, but still). You can still be gracious and professional with your language while maintaining your opinion and integrity. 
• Show up on time. Running late happens, but make sure to communicate the situation so they feel like their time is respected.
• Give their channel proper love. Include links to their materials in the end screen and description box. Post about the collaboration with hyperlinked text on your social platform. 
• Remember that you don't know them. You might have a best friend connection, but realize that this may be their presentation for work-related matters. Do not share with them your insecurities, gossip, personal information, etc. until you truly know their character.

FAQ

Q: The influencer feels flaky. They aren't great communicators and have already rescheduled filming once. Should I continue?
A: Give it one more try. Now, if the situation makes you miserable and anxious, then politely explain that your availability has changed but would love to try again some other time. This gets you out of the situation but also lets you fizzle future opportunities with this influencer down the road. And perhaps he/she was having a bad day and would be a great collab partner down the road.

Q: An influencer wants to collab with me that I love, but I realize they are bad for my brand. What's my next move?
A: If an influencer is too raunchy for your channel, be open about it. They should already know. If they're in hot water for racism, sexism, etc., choose a date far in advance so the drama can settle or make up an excuse. I'm not here to preach morals on this blog.

Q: I reached out and received zero response. Now what?
​A: No biggie! They may not have seen it, been too busy to respond, or know that it's not the right time for them. Give them the benefit of the doubt so you don't remain bitter. You can definitely send a follow up like you would a job application, just be sure to not spam them. ​If they do not respond to your second message, move on.

Fun Facts about my Fortnite  video

This video almost never happened. The game took over an hour to load, then QuickTime Player recorded my screen but couldn't save the file. I had to screen record the screen recording and save it in sections to have usable footage. The gameplay was almost an hour long, but I actually edited this video in about 20 minutes. Now that I've already made some kills on FortNite, this video would be too cringy for me to watch at this time. React video maybe?
