They say Paris is the fashion capital, but have you heard about the stylish streets of Korea? Any country's fashion week flashes edgy prints and mixed ensembles. Off the runway, Americans stick to safe ensembles with simple color matching, but Koreans continue to indulge in the exotic. We had to make an Americans Try Korean Fashion series.
This summer, I had the opportunity to visit my old college roommate in Korea as she now teaches English overseas. We shopped in Seoul at international stores indulging in Korean trends or stores only found in Asia. Although a bad habit, it was honestly a blast.
Americans Try Korean Fashion
I do not think I could adore K-fashion by itself if it was not for the confidence of the people wearing the styles. Baggy fashion does not flaunt the curves. Shades of brown or rough fabrics look dowdy. Printed t-shirts everywhere you look. Patterns that don't even match! But the way that all the pieces were thrown together and strutted made me want in on their concept.
Have you indulged in other countries' fashion trends?
