Is Millennial dating a real thing because every guy has only asked me to hang out? Tinder and Bumble, self-proclaimed "dating apps," are really just hook-up platforms. So, when I heard on the news about a dating app for young professionals, I asked myself Should I download The League? Let me tell you about it...
When you sign up for The League, you have to submit a fully setup LinkedIn profile with your application (along with the usual Facebook.) Next, you will be placed on a Waitlist so the algorithm/guy-in-his-mom's-basement can judge your work, education, and appearance. Now, I'm unsure if anyone can have their application rejected on the app or if they stay forever waitlisted.
Finally, you get that acceptance email (for me it took 48 hours because BAM!) and feel a sense of accomplishment for your entry level position and narcissistic selfies. It probably feels a lot like getting accepted into Harvard College.
Every date was respectful and gracious toward me. I never felt scared or pressured at any time. I did research the dates ahead of time to always play it safe with meeting a stranger. But I think The League has done an excellent job with its admission process.
Should I download The League? YES!
