There are 100+ hair products recommended by REAL PEOPLE that do not work at all on my dry-forever hair. I'm tired of dropping serious coin on professional shampoo and conditioners, top-rated serums, and a spray that I think only smells good. Maybe the answers lie outside of the shower and into my daily habits? I'm fixing my dry hair while sleeping!
Let me explain my hair type for you to better understand the review you're about to read. I am white. I have thick hair in two different ways. I have a lot of hair, so many layers, so much potential for a tangled mess. My hair strands are also very thick. Some of them are textured with kinks while others are smooth. (I've had friends play with my loose strands and cannot believe they can't easily pull my hair strands apart.) I do not suffer from frizz. I posses the normal amount of fly aways. My top layer is straight and bottom layer is curly and wavy. My hair is lightened at the ends by a non-bleach hair lift chemical. This method better keeps the integrity of my hair since it has less damaging and drying agents than bleach. My last hair cut was less than 30 days ago. My ends look healthy, but I can feel the moisture lacking in the ends already.
Fixing My Dry Hair While Sleeping
I purchased the Stay On Satin sleeping bonnet, which you can buy for less than $5 on Amazon. The product that replicates the style of a vintage shower cap includes a soft interior to prevent slippage and a satin exterior to safely glide across your pillow. The Stay On Satin cap "prevents breakage and saves your style better than any ordinary satin."
I slept every night with this Stay On Satin "shower cap" on my head for 30 days. [Talk about the function] [Share the results]
Stay On Satin sell various types of wraps for those that are not a fan of the look and feel of the bonnet. They also sell products with built in conditioners and fibers that keep hair cleaner.
I recommend owning this item for sure. It is super cheap, great quality of fabrics and elastic to prove longevity, and preserves your look. If you're like me, when I first straighten my clean hair, my strands appear dull and frizzy no matter what products I add. I usually straighten my hair at night, sleep on it, and rock it the next day. You may not use this bonnet daily, but this product is for sure useful to have in your back pocket.
